This is the first time EDF Energy has ever aired a TVC. Which is part of a full scale multi-media advertising campaign that goes live on Sunday (6 January 2008) with this 60 sec TV advert made entirely from recycled film clips. The soundtrack featured in the advert, “It’s Not Easy Being Green”, has been adapted from the original version written by Joe Raposo for Sesame Street in 1970. In this case the song is used to highlight that while it may be difficult to change behaviour over night …

I LOVE this advert. I think its one of the best adverts ever. I disagree though that global warming is caused solely by us (humans) and CO2 emissions. The temperature of the earth has varied over time for example, look at the last ice age. Since then the earth has warmed up which is NOT as a result of our emissions. HOWEVER I still feel strongly about saving energy and lowering emissions and it is common sense to save power as it will undoubtedly save you money.

To add to what i put below, I think that it is important that big countries such as USA and China work harder to lower emissions as although emissions are not totally responsible for climate change, they are a factor. The UK is only responsible for 2% of emissions whereas the USA and China ‘contribute’ a lot more. It is everybodies responsibility to maintain and not poison our planet.

Is EDF Energy a french company?
April 22nd, 2009 at 8:48 pm
EDF energy is the british subsidiary. But yes thats why EDF stands for Électricité de France. its the national power supplier. By the way i’m not some expert on EDF, i just went on wikipedia. Obviously you didn’t have the sense to do that.

“look at the last ice age”
Whta the fuck are you talking about, the last ice age took hundreds of years to come about. we are seeing a temperture rise that has happened faster than any temperture rise in geological history.

Are you an idiot?
China may pollute more but they have 19% of the population, the UK has less than 0.1%. It’s fair that 1.3 billion people pollute way more than 65 million people, if you look at per capita emissions then the UK is one of the biggest polluters.
Why are British people so damn retarded? I’m so moving to the US after my degree.
